1. SCOPE OF APPLICATION
These General Terms and Conditions of Sale apply, without restriction or reservation, to any rental of accommodation or bare pitch at the Camping Sérendipité site, operated by Mrs. CHAKUR Célia and Mr. CANCÉ Éric (the Service Provider), by non-professional customers (the Customers or the Customer), via the website https://www.camping-serendipite.fr/, or by phone, post, email, or in a location where the Provider markets the Services.
The main characteristics of the Services are presented on the website https://www.camping-serendipite.fr/ or via written media—paper or electronic—in the case of bookings made by other means than remote ordering. The Customer must read them before placing an order. The choice and purchase of a Service are the sole responsibility of the Customer.
These General Terms and Conditions of Sale exclude any other terms of the Provider, including those applicable to other distribution channels. They are accessible at any time on the website and will prevail, where applicable, over any other version or document. The version applicable to the Customer is the one in force at the time of the order, either on the website or as communicated by the Provider. Unless proven otherwise, the data recorded in the Provider's computer system constitutes proof of all transactions concluded with the Customer.
Under the conditions defined by French data protection law and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Customer has the right to access, rectify, and oppose their personal data, unless such processing is essential for fulfilling the order or the stay and its follow-up. This can be done by writing to: Camping Sérendipité – 4 impasse de Fontbielle – 15260 Neuvéglise-sur-Truyère, with proof of identity.
The Customer declares to have read and accepted these General Terms and Conditions of Sale, either by checking the appropriate box before completing the online order process, or, in the case of offline bookings, by any appropriate means.
2. BOOKING CONDITIONS
A booking only becomes effective upon approval by Camping Sérendipité, after receipt of the deposit and either the completed and signed reservation contract or acceptance of the terms and conditions during online booking. If the deposit is not paid at the time of booking, or the balance is not paid at least 30 days before the stay, the campsite reserves the right to cancel the booking and re-offer the accommodation.
Bookings are binding only if Camping Sérendipité accepts them, which it is free to do or refuse depending on availability or any circumstance affecting the fulfillment of the booking. Camping Sérendipité offers family-oriented stays, and accommodations are designed accordingly. The campsite reserves the right to refuse any booking that goes against or seeks to circumvent this principle.
It is the Customer's responsibility to check the accuracy of the order and report any errors immediately. The order is only considered final once the Customer has received confirmation from the Provider by email or post, or signed the contract in person. Any order placed on the website constitutes a distance contract between the Customer and the Provider.
Bookings are strictly personal and may not be sublet or transferred without prior written consent from Camping Sérendipité. Minors must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.
2.1 Bare Pitch:
The basic package includes the pitch for a tent or caravan with one car, van, or motorhome for 2 people, access to sanitary facilities and reception infrastructure.
2.2 Rental Accommodation:
The basic package includes 2 to 6 persons, depending on the type of rental. Camping Sérendipité reserves the right to refuse entry to any group or family exceeding the accommodation's capacity.
2.3 Booking Fees (administration fees):
There are no booking fees at our establishment.
3. GROUP BOOKINGS
Any booking of more than 4 accommodations by the same person or by different individuals who know each other and are traveling together for the same purpose and dates to the same site is considered a group. The accommodations offered on the Camping Sérendipité website are intended for individual customers only.
For any group booking request, you must contact the campsite by phone, email, or via the Contact Us section. Camping Sérendipité reserves the right to review and accept or reject such requests.
4. RATES AND TOURIST TAX
Prices are valid for the 2025 season. They are quoted per night, in euros, and include VAT. The Services are provided at the rates in effect at the time of the order as shown on the website or other media from the Provider. These rates include any applicable discounts granted on the website or in communications from the Provider.
These prices are fixed and non-revisable during their validity period, as indicated on the website or in the written offer sent to the Customer. After that period, the offer is void and the Provider is no longer bound by the displayed prices.
The tourist tax is €0.66 per day per person aged 18 and over.
5. PAYMENT TERMS
5.1 Deposit
Advance payments are considered deposits and represent part payment of the total price. A deposit of 50% of the total cost of the Services is required at the time of booking. This must be paid upon receipt of the final rental agreement and returned with the signed copy. It is deducted from the total price.
It will not be refunded in case of cancellation by the Customer (except in the case of cancellation insurance, with supporting documentation). The balance of the stay must be paid in full 30 days before the arrival date. For bookings made less than 30 days before the start of the stay, full payment is required at the time of booking. Failure to pay either the deposit or the balance within the deadlines gives the campsite the right to cancel the booking and re-list the accommodation.
5.2 Payment
Payments are only considered final once the amounts are effectively received by the Provider. For both the deposit and the balance, the following payment methods are accepted: ANCV holiday vouchers, ANCV Connect, cash, credit card (Visa, CB, Mastercard), or bank transfer.
For stays on bare pitches without prior booking (walk-in guests), you must inform the reception of your desired length of stay upon arrival and pay the full amount. In case of early departure, no refund will be made.
5.3 Non-Compliance with Payment Terms
In the event of non-payment of the deposit upon booking or of the remaining balance at least 30 days before the start of the stay, the Provider reserves the right to suspend or cancel the delivery of Services ordered by the Client and/or to suspend the performance of its obligations following a formal notice that remains unheeded. The accommodation may also be offered again for rental.
6. NO RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
In accordance with Article L.221-28 of the French Consumer Code, Camping Sérendipité informs its clients that the sale of service provisions relating to accommodation supplied on a specific date or according to a specific frequency is not subject to the 14-day withdrawal period.
7. PROVISION OF SERVICES
7.1 Provision and Use of Services
If a health pass is required by the government of the country where the camping is located on the dates of the reserved stay, all guests subject to this requirement must present a valid health pass upon arrival to be allowed entry into the campsite.
Rental accommodations and bare pitches can be occupied from 4:00 p.m. on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 11:00 a.m. on the day of departure. The full balance must be paid 30 days before arrival (failure to do so may result in cancellation).
Accommodations and pitches are designed for a specific number of occupants and may not be occupied by more than the authorized number. The accommodation or pitch must be returned in the same clean condition as it was upon arrival. Otherwise, the Client will be charged the End-of-stay cleaning fee at the current 2025 rate. Any damage to the accommodation or its equipment must be repaired immediately at the Client's expense. The final inventory must match the initial inventory exactly. Bare pitches must be cleared of any litter, garbage, tent pegs, etc.
7.2 Security Deposit for Accommodation Rentals
A security deposit of €200 (credit card imprint, pre-authorized card payment) is required from the Client on the day of check-in. It will be automatically cancelled 30 days later, minus any deductions for damages supported by an invoice. Retention of the deposit does not preclude additional compensation if the costs exceed the deposit amount. This deposit is not a limit of liability.
If the accommodation is returned in an unclean condition and no cleaning option was booked in advance, the cleaning fee will be invoiced at the current seasonal rate.
8. CANCELLATION BY CAMPING SÉRENDIPITÉ
In the event of cancellation by Camping Sérendipité (except in cases of force majeure), all amounts paid will be fully refunded. No compensation or damages shall be payable.
9. LATE ARRIVAL, INTERRUPTION OR CANCELLATION OF STAY BY THE CLIENT
No discount will be granted in the event of late arrival, early departure, or changes in the number of persons (either for part or all of the stay).
9.1 Modifications
Clients may request changes to their stay (dates, accommodation type, number of guests). The Provider will endeavor to accommodate these requests depending on availability and feasibility, without obligation and possibly with a price adjustment. No postponement to the following season is permitted.
If no modification is accepted, the client must proceed with the stay under the original terms or cancel according to the cancellation policy.
Requests to extend the stay will be subject to availability and current pricing. Requests to shorten the stay will be considered partial cancellations under article 9.2.
9.2 Unused Services
In case of interrupted or shortened stay due to:
Border closures by government decision
Administrative closure of the campsite
Official travel restrictions making it impossible to reach the campsite
A credit voucher equal to the unused nights will be issued, valid for two years. If the client refuses the voucher, a refund will be issued upon request, minus booking fees and cancellation insurance (if applicable).
For all other reasons, no refund or credit will be issued for interrupted or shortened stays.
9.3 Cancellation by the Client
All cancellations must be submitted by postal mail to the campsite address or by email. Phone cancellations will not be accepted. Any cancellation terminates the booking, and the campsite reserves the right to re-offer the accommodation.
a- Without Cancellation Insurance:
If cancelled due to:
Government-mandated border closures
Administrative closure of the campsite
Government travel restrictions preventing access to the campsite
A credit voucher for the full amount paid, valid for two years, will be issued. If refused, a refund will be issued upon request, minus booking fees and cancellation insurance.
For all other reasons:
Cancellation up to 30 days before arrival: the 50% deposit is retained as cancellation fees.
Cancellation between day 30 and day 0: the full amount paid is retained.
If the client does not arrive on the day of the reservation and has not informed the campsite, the booking will be considered cancelled. The accommodation will be made available again for rental.
b- With Cancellation Insurance:
If cancellation is covered by the policy, the sums paid are reimbursed under the insurance terms. If the reason is not covered or the claim is denied, the terms of section 9.3 a- will apply, and the insurance cost will be deducted.
10. CLIENT OBLIGATIONS
10.1 Civil Liability Insurance
Clients staying in an accommodation or on a pitch must have valid liability insurance. Proof of insurance may be requested before the stay.
10.2 Pets
Pets are allowed for a daily fee per animal. They are permitted in rentals but must not be left unattended. They must always be kept on a leash and are not allowed in sanitary facilities. Vaccination certificates for dogs and cats must be up to date.
10.3 Image Rights
You authorize Camping Sérendipité, and any third party it designates, to photograph, film or record you during your stay and to use these media (images, sound, videos) on all platforms (including the campsite website, Facebook, Instagram, promotional materials, and travel guides).
This authorization extends to all persons staying with you, is solely for promoting the establishment, will not harm your reputation, is granted free of charge, valid worldwide, and for 5 years.
10.4 Rules and Regulations
A copy of the campsite rules is posted at the entrance. Clients are required to read and follow it. A copy is available upon request.
10.5 Electric Vehicles
It is strictly forbidden to charge an electric vehicle without prior authorization from the campsite management (due to fire risks linked to socket amperage).
